The Gilead House is a unique sevice opportunity for Camp Living Water. Gilead means hill of testimony. This house is and continues to be, a testimony of God's Blessings and provisions. The use of the house was donated to Camp Living Water, unasked for and totally unexpected, so that we could expand our ministry. The fact that we are able to use this house is testimony to God's abundance towards the ministry here and to His people as a body. It is our desire to see this house used as a place of peace, rest and family togetherness. It is our sincere hope that your time at the Gilead house will be a time of encouragement, rejuvenation, and rest. We look forward to hearing the Testimony of what God has done for you in this place.
Gilead has been set aside for Families, Married Couples, Missioinaries, Ministers and Adult Church Groups. It is a refuge for families and married couples seeking a quiet place to rest and escape the hustle and bustle of the world. There is room for small church groups to spend time getting to know one another better and be challenged in their spiritual walks. Church leaders and workers are welcome to find peace and comfort here as they use quiet to recharge their hearts and bodies for service. If you need any or all of these things, we encourage you to come and stay at the Gilead House for a while.
This beautiful 10 bedroom 5 bath house is located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. Just minutes from great outdoor excursions including whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, waterfalls, train rides, creek tubing, horseback riding and mountain biking. The area also offers great seasonal outings like Fall Colors drives and Snow Skiing and Snowboarding in the winter. Bryson City is a quiet little town that offers plenty of shopping and dining opportunities as well and lots of history. The Cherokee Indian Reservation is just down the road and guests can spend some time learning about the rich history and culture of the Native Americans through living villages, old farmsteads, museums and dramas. Cherokee also offers some great shopping and dining venues.
The Gilead House is two stories divided into 4 Suites which can be rented individually, as a whole or by floor. Each Suite is spacious and well furnished and equipped. The front yard has plenty of room to run and play or hang a hammock and enjoy a good book. The back has a large paved parking area with a basketball hoop and plenty of space to park an RV or up to 12 cars.
The Daniel Suite
This suite is perfectly suited for couples or small young families who are looking for a smaller, more intimate setting. A king size bed sits under sky lights in the master bedroom, while the bathroom has both a shower and a jacuzzi tub. A see through gas fireplace divides the master bedroom from the bathroom. A small adjoining room has a futon bunkbed that is perfect for younger children or as a place to unwind. This suite incorporates a kitchenette and a more private entrance leading out to a patio with a fire pit and lawn chairs. While this is the smallest of the 3 suites it offers some lovely perks including more privacy than the larger suites.
The Azariah Suite
Azariah is our largest suite and would be best used for larger families. There are three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a large kitchen, dining room, family room and game area. There are two sets of bunk beds (one with a double bed on the bottom) in one bedroom while the other has a queen size bed. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and a private bath. The kitchen is very large and fully equipped with new appliances including a dishwasher. The family room offers comfortable couches and a big TV with DVD/VCR player. There is a spacious front yard, complete with a play ground for active kiddies. The Azariah suite is great for bigger groups, especially when used along with Daniel.
The Hananiah Suite
Hananiah is the most straight forward suite and would make a great base for adventures around WNC. There are four bedrooms, three with queen size beds and one with two twins, as well as a full bath. The den is tucked in the back corner of the suite, well away from the bedrooms, so your night owls can stay up to watch movies without disturbing everyone else. The kitchenette is small but sufficient for breakfasts and lunches. This is a great space for families that like to be out and about.
The Mishael Suite
This is a rambling suite with lots of nooks and crannies, including a nice office/library area right off one of the bedrooms. The two large bedrooms are fully furnished with a queen bed, double bed and two sets of bunk beds. There is a nice dining area attached to the kitchen, as well as a small sitting area and TV room. The half bath was recently put in and has all the modern amenities. Mishael is definitely a quiet escape.
All suites have access to a game room with air hockey and carpet pool as well as a complete laundry room and lots of parking.

Daniel Suite (1 Bedroom + Kitchenette) --- $100/night
Azariah Suite (3 Bedrooms + Kitchen) --- $150/night
Hananiah ( 4 Bedrooms + Dining Area) --- $120/night
Mishael (2 Bedrooms + Kitchen) --- $130/night
Entire House (10 Bedrooms) --- $500/night
Extended Stay Discount: Guests staying more than 2 nights get a 10% discount. We want you to get the most you can out of your time at Gilead.
Weekly Rate: If you rent for 6 to 7 nights you only have to pay for 5 nights so stay for the weekend too!
Deposit: There is a required $50.00 non- refundable deposit per suite per night of your stay or 20% of the total cost for the whole house. This deposit goes toward the total cost of your stay with us.
Reservations: We can hold reservations without a deposit for 10 days. After 10 days, if we do not hear from you or receive a deposit we will not guarantee the availability of the house or suites. We're sorry if this is inconvenient, but we would like to make the house as usable as possible.
